I was born and raised in Minnesota and spent my younger days trying out many sports including softball, gymnastics and soccer. Eventually I landed in the pool and competed from 7th grade into college until a nagging injury kept me from competing further and I endured my first reconstructive knee surgery. My swimming career was over but I was not finished as an athlete. I spent time working out and lifting weights with friends the rest of my college years. I graduated college with a business degree from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN.
In 2003, I met my husband who sparked my serious working out activities post collegiate athletics. We spent many nights in the gym lifting weights, playing racquetball and tossing any challenge we could at each other. We got married in 2005, bought a house in 2007 and had our first son in 2008. Despite the craziness, I kept with the gym and began training for my first triathlon in 2009. I loved it so much I kept training intensely even after our second son was born in 2010.
In 2012, I shifted my focus to bodybuilding. I trained for and competed in 2 figure competitions in 2013. This is where I learned about high intensity interval training (HIIT). I placed 2nd and 4th respectively and made a new group of friends who became a great influence in direction for my life.
In April of 2014, I continued my love of fitness and nutrition and expanded my skillset by getting certified as a personal trainer. I continued assisting others and fall of 2014 launched my sucessful Tabata Bootcamp (a form of HIIT training) while having a full time day job and being a wife/mom to my boys.
I currently spend my free time with my 2 sons, husband and black lab puppy. I like to fish, hunt, garden and be active outside walking and biking. My fitness takes on many forms these days. Tabata and HIIT cardio, as well as weight lifting will always be my core foundation workouts. But I love bits of the extremes including StrongMan and Mud Runs.
“Kensie is a truly excellent trainer. She is the perfect combination of tough ("Kensie you are KILLING me!") and encouraging ("Good Carol, keep it up"), and she works with the whole person. Because of her efforts, I am stronger and more flexible, I have better balance and most importantly, working out has become fun. I recommend her for bootcamp and more.”

“MacKensie is an AMAZING trainer! I first met her to fine tune my shape and maintain weight before my wedding and she hand-crafted a plan just for me. It was full of variety and made the time fly by. I loved the personal training so much that I joined her for several sessions of the bootcamp and had tremendous results: losing pounds and inches, toning up, and gaining endurance. I recommend her training to anyone looking for a fun way to get fit fast!”
